LP Gear N97xVL ViVid Line upgrade for Shure N97xE stylus

"OMG WOW!!! I couldn't believe it! No longer critical, soft sweet and warm! The highs soared but weren't brittle! The bass might have been slightly less pronounced, but it is super balanced." 1

"I wish I could review this stylus it is 100x better than the JICO SAS!!! NO LIE!!!"

"I wanted to tell you how amazing this product is! I am only a few hours into using it and I have been blown away by how fantastic it really is with its detail and lack of distortion."

"It's a definite improvement over the stock Shure stylus. Much better overall clarity and detail. I think a good cartridge becomes a very good one with the upgraded VL stylus."

"The most enjoyable detail is the inner micro detail. Tremolo on voices, fingers on strings, and movement of valves on trumpets. Overall the sound is free and open, unfettered." 2

Upgraded LP stylus for Shure M97xE Cartridge
4 out of 5

I bought this a while back but waited for the Shure original needle to wear out before installing as a long term replacement...This is a good replacement upgrade for your Shure M97xe. The Shure cartridge is already a good cartridge and can also be modified to sound better by manipulating the picofarads resistance of the feed...What makes this stylus nice is that you can get many of the benefits you get trying to manipulate the picofarads by simply replacing the needle...The changes are not dramatic but subtle. A lot of the benefit is going to depend a lot on the quality of your other equipment Your phono pre amp your speakers and your record player...The greater the quality of equipment you have the more noticeable and beneficial the change will be....For low to moderate equipment you may be better off just sticking with the original stylus,,,,What I have noticed with my equipment which is of moderate mid level higher quality( ie NAD amplifier with phono input; older Energy Speakers; highly modified Dual turntable etc) Is that the treble is slightly more detailed and pronounced...The bass is also a little better controlled and not as boomy but these changes are subtle, they are also more noticeable on new records than on older records that have been played a lot....So if you like subtle changes this is a good inexpensive way to upgrade your stylus and sound quality to a slightly higher level...
