DAC D/A Converters

A digital-to-analog converter (DAC or D/A Converter) accepts digital data usually from a CD player, PC or streaming device and converts them to an analog signal. The DAC has a digital input(s) and analog output to connect to a preamp's line-level input.

A CD player is actually two components in one box. It has: (1) a CD turntable to accurately rotate and read the digital data stream on the disk and (2) a DAC.
