AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-120Eb AT 120Eb AT120Eb CARTRIDGE

The AT120Eb moving magnet cartridge features Audio-Technica's Vector-Aligned Dual Magnet design and exclusive Paratoroidal Signal Generator.

Its high performance and unique Paratoroidal signal generating system is composed of a unified, laminated coil core wound with a single piece of wire. Internal mechanical and electrical connections are eliminated, minimizing magnetic losses and ensuring better signal transfer.

The PCOCC coil enables pure signal transmission because it does not have grain boundaries in the direction of transmission.

Extraordinarily crafted, the 120Eb phono cartridge provides musical enjoyment far beyond its price range. After about 100 hours of break-in, you'll enjoy its crystalline highs, cohesion, wide sound stage, and tight bass.

I have an AT 120LP TT and an AT 95E cartridge and it sounds great. First I would highly recommend this turntable-it is a solid, well built and easy to operate unit-I have been an AR and Rega TT user in the past but this one is great- This week I ordered an AT-120EB cartridge and it was an immediate difference-this 120 is brighter than the 95 and sounds very clean- However I would highly suggest running the cartridge for several hours since over time it has sounded so much better. Also, I would like to state that being adventurous (and read too much ) I decided to remove the pre-amp from the TT. First off, its not that easy and the video available on U Tube leaves out some critical items-The most important is that when removing the base from the TT , the spacers have a tendency of moving and getting lost-Also when re-assembling,the spacers must be put in place and its best to insure that they do not move is by using some quick glue to hold them in position . Also when removing the pre-amp it is necessary to modify their instructions and get imaginative in securing the needed cables in the TT so they do not "pull" when attaching them to external sources. Now for the funny story- yes this procedure was not a quick 10 min. I started at 10pm and finished the next morning at 8:30am. When completed and all was ck'd out I assembled the unit, sat down and was so happy until a 60 Hz hum appeared. I ck'd all the contacts and even took the unit apart to make sure all was correct-it was-but the hum was still there. So after an hour of may attempts I decided that its over and I was about to dump the TT and realized I must have done something wrong. So I went over to the window in the room that the TT was located, nursing strong coffee, preparing to disconnect and dump - and then the surprise- I saw a tree shredder out side the window and when it stopped so did the hum- Just a story that I had to pass on- we all need a good laugh! In sum, I would strongly rec the TT, the 120 and the 95 cartridges- they are terrific. great values. Larry
